What is Prayer Power?

Prayer Power is a Eucharistic Adoration movement founded in 1983 to encourage people to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for:

  • An increase in vocation to the priesthood and religious life.

  • Christ centered families.

  • Holy priests and religious on fire with love for the Eucharist.

Prayer Power has over 7,000 members throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia committed to praying before the Blessed Sacrament for vocations and families.

How does Prayer Power work?

  • It's easy! Prayer power members commit to becoming a Vocation Prayer Warrior by praying one hour a month in front of the Blessed Sacrament for the Prayer Power intentions.

  • They fulfill their Prayer Power commitment at their parish or at Saint Charles Seminary.

  • Prayer Power members are assigned a priest and asked to pray for them at dinner time and during their Holy Hour.

  • Prayer Power members receive an inspirational newsletter four times a year to encourage them in their work as vocation prayer warriors.

What will Prayer Power do for me?

  • As one Vocation Prayer Warrior put it: "I committed to making a holy hour to help the church with vocations. But the joke was on me. God has a sense of humor, My Holy Hour helped me far more than I helped the Church."  -Eustace Mita (father and businessman)

  • When you commit to making a Holy Hour you will receive many personal graces as well as help to increase vocations to the priesthood and build Christ centered families.
